Rejuvenated Appearance

What is a Chin Implant?

A chin implant is a surgical cosmetic procedure designed to improve the appearance of a recessed or weak chin and provide facial harmony and a defined jawline. It enhances the shape and contour of the face, creating a more symmetrical, balanced profile. Each chin implant is unique and shaped to blend naturally with your facial structure. With a chin implant, your chin will appear more proportionate to the rest of your facial features, jawline, and neck with subtle results that make a big difference.

What’s the First Step?

The first step to getting a chin implant is to schedule a consultation at Avenue Plastic Surgery in Whitby or Toronto. When you arrive, you will meet either Dr. Alexander Golger or Dr. Romy Ahluwalia (Dr. Romy), who will conduct your consultation. Your consultation will begin with an overview of the procedure, your goals, medical history, and lifestyle, and questions regarding the procedure. You will receive a thorough examination and assessment of your face to determine whether your features and goals align with the benefits and goals of the procedure.

Through all of this, Dr. Golger will determine if moving forward is the best way for you to accomplish your goals. Then, a treatment plan will be provided, including the incision site, the number of appointments, recovery steps, and an estimated cost.

What to Expect on the Day of Chin Implant Surgery

On the day of your chin implant surgery in Toronto or Whitby, you will have a pre-operative check-up to make sure you are all set for the surgery. You can ask any remaining questions to help you mentally prepare for the surgery and recovery.

As the surgery begins, you’ll be given anesthesia, allowing you to relax while the surgery is performed. Dr. Golger will make the incision in the agreed-upon area, either inside the mouth or under your chin. After the incision, he’ll make a pocket to create space for the implant and gently place it on top of the chin bone, adding volume and getting rid of the recessed appearance. Sutures and bandages will be placed to close the incision, minimize swelling, reduce bruising, and keep the implant in place.

The procedure will take about one hour in total, and you can return home the same day.

Chin Implant Recovery

Though a chin implant is a surgical procedure, it typically requires less downtime than more intensive procedures. Your recovery will involve some initial swelling and minor bruising, but this will subside after a couple of weeks. Our Toronto and Whitby patients are often able to return to work and normal activities after only 3 to 4 days. However, you should hold off on strenuous activities for about three or four weeks.

You may need to adopt a short-term diet of soft or liquid foods to prevent strain and pressure on your chin for the first few days. Attend all follow-up appointments with Dr. Golger to ensure your results appear within the expected timeline. You may receive additional recovery steps after your surgery, which will be provided to you then.

How Much Does a Chin Implant Cost in Toronto, ON?

The cost of a Chin Implant in Whitby and Toronto can look very different for each patient. The cost is influenced by several factors, including the surgeon’s experience, anesthesia fees, the number of appointments, the extent of the procedure, the cost of the implant, and operating room costs. These will all be laid out in your treatment plan, so you aren’t surprised by hidden fees or costs.
