Which breast implants are the best?

The implants we use today are superior to those of 10 years ago. Most recently, we’ve started using the cohesive silicone gel or “gummy bear” implant, which contains a firm silicone gel that doesn’t flow from the implant shell. Despite the appeal of silicone, saline implants remain a popular choice for our patients here in Toronto & Oshawa. When you’re choosing an implant, we’ll consider details like surgical technique, your body type and your desired outcome, in addition to practical concerns like cost and the manufacturer’s warranty.

How does breast augmentation in Toronto & Oshawa work?

Breast augmentation in Toronto & Oshawa is a relatively simple outpatient procedure performed with general anesthesia or local anesthetic with sedation. We can create surgical incisions in different locations: beneath the breast, within the pigment of the areola, or the underarm. Then we create a pocket and place the implant inside the breast tissue. The incisions are then closed with sutures.

What can I expect after breast augmentation surgery in Oshawa & Toronto?

Although you’ll see the results of breast augmentation right away, you won’t be able to appreciate the outcome until swelling subsides. After surgery, your chest will be wrapped with dressings and you’ll need to wear a supportive bra. The typical recovery takes 7 days. We’ll give you specific instructions for the recovery, so you know what to expect.

Does breast augmentation have risks?

Breast augmentation does have risks to review and consider. During your consultation, we’ll discuss potential adverse events such as discomfort, bruising, infection, asymmetry, capsular contracture, and changes to skin sensitivity.
